I live in Europe, but often buy products on the American Amazon. I usually don’t have any problems using them, but some devices are rated for 110V mains, while we have a 220V mains supply in Europe.
You know, I had a very unpleasant situation with my robot vacuum cleaner when the charging station burned out, because I plugged it into a 220V outlet when it is rated for 110V. I also have an air purifier that I cannot use because it is rated for 110v mains.
If you have a similar situation and need a voltage converter, I found a good option. This is a voltage converter or travel adapter from PLAVOGUE.
It doesn’t only step down the voltage, so you can use your 110V device in a 240V country, but also has Type-A plug for the USA, Japan and many other countries, Type-G plug for the United Kingdom, Type-C for European countries and Type I for Australia, New Zealand, and China.
Although I plan to use this device as a voltage converter, it is also a universal travel adapter.
Let’s take a closer look at it and test in practice.

Unboxing
I have two of these devices because they are very useful. However, let’s open one, because the other one is the same.
On the box, we can see that it is a 220V 110V voltage converter, USA, Australia, UK and Europe plugs, as well as some information how to use it.
When you open a box, you will find a carrying bag with the PLAVOGUE logo.
Then there is a small user manual and the adapter itself.
Design
You know, although the device is advertised as a compact adapter, it is actually bigger than other adapters I have because it is also a voltage converter. It is definitely smaller than other converters.
Its dimensions are 79 x 60 x 57mm. The weight is 175 grams.
The device is made of quality plastic.
By the way, I have the converter, aka adapter, in white, but it is also available in black.
There is the PLAVOGUE logo, and a universal socket with child protection door on top.
On the side, there are sliders with UK, Australia, USA and Europe plugs. Just slide one of them down and the connector will come out from the bottom.
By the way, the converter/adapter has a fuse and a spare fuse. They will keep your device from burning out if its wattage is higher than the adapter is rated for.
On the other side, we can see the maximum power in adapter mode – 880W for 120V mains and 2000W for 240V mains.
In converter mode, the maximum power is 880W and the peak power is 1000W.
There is also a button to switch between Adapter and Converter modes.
Finally, the PLAVOGUE travel adapter/converter has a power indicator, USB A and USB C ports.
So, this device is bigger than the adapters we are used to, but much smaller than other converters. Nevertheless, the carrying bag makes it very convenient for traveling.
But now we have to check it out.
Test
I have an air purifier, but I was afraid to use it because it is rated for 110V mains. The converter from PLAVOGUE should lower the voltage, so I can use a 110V device on a 220V mains supply.
From the top, we plug in the US connector of the air purifier, and then slide down the EU connector of the converter. Finally, let’s plug it into a 220V outlet.
As you can see, the air purifier works. There are no problems with it even at the highest speed level.
Conclusion
So, I found a solution to one of my problems with this product – how to use 110V devices on 220V supply.
It is also a very useful travel adapter, so you can use your appliances while traveling to over 200 countries around the world.
