Do you remember me talking about the Oukitel OT5 tablet? Today I saw that a new tablet from this series has been released. It is called Oukitel OT8.
At first, I thought I missed the Oukitel OT6 and OT7, but those tablets don’t actually exist. To be honest, I don’t always understand the names of mobile devices and tablets from Chinese manufacturers.
Anyway, I am interested to know the main features of the Oukitel OT8 tablet, but let’s start with its price.

$179.99
Price
The new tablet goes on sale from January 22nd. It is available on the official website and Aliexpress for the price of $179.
By the way, the first buyers of the new Oukitel tablet will get a free smartwatch BT20. It is a rugged Bluetooth Calling smartwatch.
I also saw a notice that the tablet is compatible with 4G networks in all countries except the US, Canada and Mexico. Please take note of this.
Design
You know, the new Oukitel OT8 tablet looks similar to the previous model Oukitel OT5, but it is more compact because of the 11-inch display. We will come back to the screen a little later, but for now let’s talk about design.
The Oukitel OT8 is a slim and lightweight tablet. It has a thin profile of 7.8mm and weight of 515 grams.
It looks like the body of the tablet is made of metal, but I am not sure about that.
You can choose the tablet from three colors: gray, green and purple.
Accessories
By the way, I saw on the official website that the package includes a Stylus Pen, and a Protective Case. The case can be used as a tablet stand. That’s very good.
Display
You know, I think the Oukitel OT8 is mainly intended for watching video content, because it has an 11-inch display with 2K resolution, 1200 x 1900 pixels.
The screen is certified by TUV SUD for low blue light, so the tablet filters harmful blue light to reduce eye strain and fatigue.
Another feature of the Oukitel OT8 tablet is Widevine L1 support. This means you can watch protected videos and movies from Display+, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and other streaming services in 1080 resolution.
Another reason why I think the tablet is good for watching videos is the four speakers. The sound quality should be excellent. However, if you are old-school, there is a 3.5mm audio jack for you to plug in headphones.
Performance
Talking about performance of the Oukitel OT8, it is equipped with Unisoc T606 processor, 6GB of built-in RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. However, the RAM is expandable up to 30GB and storage up to 1TB.
I cannot call it a gaming tablet, because it has about 250,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark, but it should be enough for comfortable daily use.
Camera
The Oukitel OT8 has a single 13MP camera on the rear panel, and an 8MP camera on the front panel. I cannot tell you much about them because I haven’t seen real photos, but the front camera should be good for video calls.
Battery
One of the highlights of the new Oukitel tablet is a big 8800mAh battery. While the previous model Oukitel OT5 had a larger battery of 11000mAh, the tablet itself was bigger.
The manufacturer promises 6 hours of video playback, and 5 hours of gaming for the new Oukitel OT8 tablet.
Connectivity
As I mentioned earlier, the tablet supports 4G networks worldwide except for the US, Canada, and Mexico, and it has a dual-SIM card slot.
It is also equipped with four global navigation systems, such as GPS, Glonass, Galileo, and Beidou, so you can use the tablet for car navigation.
Conclusion
So, I made sure that Oukitel OT8 is more suitable for watching video content because it has a big quality screen and four speakers.
However, the tablet also comes with a stylus pen, which makes it good for creating graphic content, doesn’t it?
I also like the dual SIM card support, so you can use the internet everywhere, not just at home, and even make calls.
