You know, I have tested many wireless earbuds from Lenovo on our channel Tech Brothers, but the new Lenovo LP8 Pro looks the most fantastic. They have a transparent charging case, and we can even see the chipset, LED indicator, and battery inside.
The other features of the new wireless earbuds are Bluetooth 5.2, 13mm driver, and game mode.
The price of Lenovo LP8 Pro is under $20.

Unboxing
So, the full name of these earbuds is Lenovo ThinkPlus Live Pods LP8 Pro. However, I will just call them Lenovo LP8 Pro.
You know, when I bought the earbuds, I thought they would be the same size as on the box. However, the charging case is actually much bigger. Later we will talk about size and weight.
On the back of the box, we can read the product specifications in Chinese and English.
Lenovo LP8 Pro has standard package contents, such as a charging case with earbuds, a USB Type-C cable and a user manual.
Design
Design is definitely the main feature of the new Lenovo earbuds.
However, a charging case is bigger than I expected. The dimensions are 60 x 60 x 21 mm. The weight of the charging case with earbuds inside is 64 grams.
You know, it is quite heavy, because the silver part of the case is made of metal. It is not a painted plastic.
Another feature in the design of Lenovo LP8 Pro is a transparent window. The hinge has an anti-closing protection, so the window makes noise when it is opened.
When you open the case, you will see a charging port, Bluetooth module, LED indicator and battery. There are also charging contacts and magnets under the earbuds.
At the bottom of the case, we can also see the battery. You know, it is really small for such a big charging case. I think the battery could be bigger.
Talking about design of the earbuds, they also have a transparent stem, but not as much as a charging case. When the LED indicator is blinking, we can see something inside, like a microphone.
The main body of the earbuds is made of white plastic.
By the way, Lenovo LP8 Pro is also available in a black color.
So, the new Lenovo earbuds have semi-in-ear design without silicone eartips. There is no active noise cancellation, but I hope the noise reduction is good. Later we will check it out.
Now, let’s talk about control functions.
Control Functions
Lenovo LP8 Pro has touch control panels, and you use them to play/pause a music with double click.
A triple click on the left earbud switches to the previous track, and a triple press on the right earbud switches to the next track.
There is even a volume control on the wireless earbuds. You just need to press on the left or the right earbuds to increase or decrease a volume.
If you press the left earbud for 2 seconds, then a voice assistant on the smartphone will be called.
Finally, a long press of the right earbud switches between game and music modes.
Talking about game mode, let’s check the latency.
Latency Test
First, I want to play PUBG Mobile in the music mode of Lenovo LP8 Pro.
As you can see, the latency is high.
When the game mode is on, the latency is much lower, and it becomes more comfortable to play.
Microphone Test
I forgot to tell you about the control functions of the phone calls.
You can answer the phone call by double press on the left or right earbuds.
If you want to reject the call, then press the right or the left earbuds for 2 seconds.
Finally, you can hand up the call with double click of any earbud.
Now I have to check the microphone quality.
Hey, guys! I am testing a microphone quality of Lenovo LP8 Pro earbuds. One, two, three, one, two, three.
Sound Quality
We are testing wireless earbuds, so we should definitely talk about sound quality. I have already told you that Lenovo LP8 Pro has semi-in-ear design.
Unfortunately, noise reduction is quite low because I can hear everything around me, even when I am listening to music.
On the other hand, it is safe because you will hear the car horn on the street.
The new Lenovo earbuds have 13mm dynamic driver.
You know, I tested Lenovo XT97 and Lenovo XT81 last month, and they all have 13mm drivers. Therefore, they have about the same sound quality, in particular, very solid bass and high volume. However, I recommend listening at 60-70% of volume.
Battery
I told you that Lenovo LP8 Pro has a small battery inside a big charging case.
The battery capacity of the charging case is 280mAh. The total battery life of Lenovo LP8 Pro is 12 hours.
A single earbud has 30mAh battery, and the playtime on a single charge is 4 hours.
Conclusion
So, as I said at the beginning of this article, the design is the main feature of Lenovo LP8 Pro.
I have tested many budget earphones from Lenovo, and they have about the same sound quality, microphone quality, battery life, etc. They mostly differ in design.
A transparent case of Lenovo LP8 Pro looks fantastic.
