I have another new IP camera, and this time it is from IMOU Company. I haven’t tested products from this brand, so I am very excited.
The new home security camera has AI human detection, night vision, 1080P Full HD resolution, and 16X zoom.
The name of the camera is IMOU Cue 2C.
So, as usual, let’s start the review with unboxing, and then look at the design, connection, application, and video quality.

Unboxing
On the box of IMOU Cue 2C, you can see how the camera looks like and read about its main features, for example, night vision, mobile alerts, sound detection, human detection, 16x digital zoom, etc.
Inside the box, there is a user manual and gift card. Of course, there is a camera itself.
You will also find another white box with a power adapter, micro USB cable, and 3M adhesive tape.
Design
You know, many IP cameras in 2020 look very similar to each other. For example, we have tested IMILAB A1 and HeimVision HMD2 cameras, and they have the same white body with a black front side.
However, the shape is different.
On the front of the IMOU Cue 2C camera, we can see the camera lens, LED light, and a microphone hole.
On the back, there is a speaker, reset button, microSD slot, and micro USB power port.
By the way, this camera has very useful rotatable feet. You can move the camera up and down, and even 360 degrees.
I think that’s all about design. Now, let’s look at the main features of this camera on the official website, and then connect it to a smartphone and look at application functions.
Features
So, on the official website, we can see that the first feature of the IMOU Cue 2C IP camera is compact design.
The next feature is human detection. When the camera detects a human, it immediately sends a notification on your phone. We will check it a little later.
The camera also sends instant alerts to the smartphone when it detects a baby’s cry or other abnormal sounds.
There is also a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way communication.
IMOU Cue 2C has a Full HD 1080p sensor and H.265 compression.
The viewing angle is 108 degrees.
The video can be stored on a microSD memory card or cloud.
Application
Now, we can connect the camera to the smartphone. The first step is to install an application called IMOU Life.
When you open the app, you need to create an account.
Tap on the Plus icon in the right top corner, and then scan QR code on the back of the camera.
Now, connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Wait for a little, and the camera will be connected.
You know, all IP cameras in 2020 have about the same functions in the app. On the main screen, you can see the live video, take a snapshot, or record the video. You can also choose video resolution, mute the sound, and enlarge the screen.
In the settings, there are many different options, such as notifications, arm settings, where you can turn on/off motion detection, human detection and choose detection sensitivity, abnormal sound, activate cloud storage, local storage, and many others.
I promised to show you how the motion detection sensor works. When the camera detects motion, you get this notification. You can click on it and look at the live video from the camera. That’s very good.
Now, let’s watch some videos that I shot. Do you think the quality is good? Write in the comments below.
Conclusion
I have tested some IP cameras recently, and they all have about the same specifications and features. Even the design of these cameras is very similar.
However, it doesn’t make IMOU Cue 2C camera bad. It has many useful features, such as Full HD resolution, night vision, motion detection, sound detection, and 16X digital zoom.
I forgot to tell you about the price of this camera. It is only 25 British Pounds.
